I first met Abby when we worked together in Jamaica. I seen her heart inside and out and I can’t really explain how much she’s influenced my life for the better. I consider myself a part of her family and Paul & I were so honored to be able to tell a part of her story by photographing their wedding day. Tim & Abby went through some really hard moments leading up to their wedding day and she was sweet enough to write about their day through her perspective!
“Tim’s father passed away unexpectedly a week before our wedding due to a ruptured heart valve. Tim and I were really unsure whether to move forward with the wedding as planned or to postpone it: his dad’s health had declined so rapidly, and we just weren’t prepared for his death, plus the funeral was scheduled for two days before our wedding date. But because of the overwhelming support of our family and friends, we chose to have the wedding as planned, even though we knew it would be hard and emotional. And we are so glad we did!
So many people jumped in to help with last-minute details to make everything come together– friends showed up to help set up the day before, people brought buckets of flowers from their gardens to make sure we would have enough wildflowers for the reception decor, and family friends took over the rehearsal dinner and made the entire rehearsal evening so special… The list could go on.
By the time our wedding day arrived, we knew we had made the right decision. Yes, it was emotional and there were tears. But it was also one of the most joy-filled celebrations I’ve ever been a part of! We felt the presence of God so strongly throughout the ceremony and right into the reception. All the details came together beautifully, and it all felt so perfect. We were really blessed by the words our friends shared during open mic, and we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the wedding gifts and even a honeymoon fund! We felt so loved and we are so grateful to every person who made our wedding day so meaningful!” -Abby
Spreading the rose petal from their fathers funeral. It was so beautiful!
Abby’s siblings sang a song at the reception dedicated to Tim’s father and Abby’s brother that is currently in the Army and wasn’t able to attend. It gave me chills and sounded so beautiful!
Tim & Abby, thanks for allowing us to be a part of your special day! We absolutely love you both!
